An eighteenth century candle holder in Sevres porcelain and ormolu mounts
An eighteenth century portable candlestick in Sèvres porcelain with its ormolu mount and a two-handled candle snuffer cone. The porcelain is decorated with garlands of flowers, foliage, polychrome leaves and flowers heightened with gold. The gilt bronze is finely carved with garlands of laurel resting on the edge of the porcelain, as well as flutes and acanthus leaves.
