Commode after Jean Francois LeleuHalf moon ormolu mounted and rosewood marquetry commode on four fluted legs. Chest with two large drawers without any traverse. Rich ornamentation of ormolu on the corners and on the top an interlaced ivy garland. The slightly curved front of the chest also gives some flexibility.This commode is a replica by "Maison Rinck" of the one delivered by Jean Francois Leleu (1729-1807) for Marie Antoinette in the Chateau de Versailles. The workpieces of Leleu (1729-1807) are very marked and easily identifiable; always impeccably executed, their architecture is severely monumental; its commodes, in particular, have massive trunks, united façades, either flat or slightly curved but devoid of any central projection, usual in the furnitures of this period. Established in 1841, Rinck house embodies the excellence of French marquetry. For over 150 years, five generations of cabinet-makers and designers have reproduced the gestures of the artisans of all times. This commode called Trianon is one of the successes of this house.
