Ewer and basin in PorcelainA ewer and basin in Paris porcelain, representing bucolic scenes. The body of the ewer is decorated with figures accompanying cattle and sheep walking towards a path which bypasses a small hill. A staircase leads to a building overlooking a beautiful colorful landscape. The oval pool is also decorated with pastoral scenes, animated by many shepherds and various animals and a river that encircles the basin. The exterior of the latter is decorated with a garland of leavesreeds painted gold. The overall effect shows a great mastery of perspective by the artist and a harmony of colors that makes this object attractive.
