A mother of pearl casketA Charles X casket in a shell shape preciously decorated with mother-of-pearl and ormolu mounts.The top part in mother-of-pearl is carved in the back as shell ribs, the smooth part is engraved on the border with stylized vegetal friezes and a central medallion with a pansy. The mount, which is resting on two small lion feet in the front and one in the back, is chiseled with foliage in the top part and with chimera friezes on the lower part. The inside, with a mirror, is fitted with fabric.
