Original inkwellA gilt bronze inkwell with three compartments. The central part consists of a container in blue porcelain with a griffin's head and a system to pump the ink. It is covered with a lid in carved bronze with scallop's shells; marked "1839 Silver Medal". On both sides a bucket of ink and one for the sand. Slightly curved back, a pen-holder at multiple levels is decorated with two snakes. The whole rests on two chimeras in front and two scrolled feet in the back. The front container is carved with motifs of leaves and flowers. Circa :1839 Dim: W: 15,7 in - D: 9,4in - H: 7,9in. Dim: L:40cm, P:24cm, H:20cm. Bibliography:
