Pair of Charles X porcelain bottles signed Darte

Pair of blue porcelain bottles embellished with scrollwork painted gold. They are decorated with multicolored flowers on one side and on the other a character in a landscape background . They are signed DARTE, Palais Royal, No. 21, which dates them back to Charles X (1825). Jean Francois and Louis Joseph Darte teamed under the name DARTE BROTHERS in 1804 and bought the Hotel Montalembert, rue de la Roquette and then resumed the Palais Royal store. Well managed workshops and quality products sold in their stores have given them a good reputation. Business was good and in 1816 a second store was opened. At the exhibitions of 1806 and 1819 they obtained the silver medal. The two brothers separated in 1823 giving an endt o their association.
