Fine pair of English porcelain vases and gilt bronze mounts resting on a circular base with fine fluting and floral patterns. The two vases are decorated with polychrome cartouches depicting pastoral scenes in the style of the 18th century. On one side, an idyllic scène in Boucher style, with a pretty shepherdess keeping her sheep in the company of a young man lying down on the grass and two young women reading a love letter in a forest with a castle in the background. On the other side, two landscapes with two foliated crowns resting on a whip or two doves, symbol of love. Arabesques in gold thread and white and red enamel patterns imitating pearls surround the cartouches. The celestial blue background is adorned with palm leaves, foliage and friezes of golden pearls. The gilt bronze handles rest on lion heads holding rings. Some pearls are missing.
