Beautiful pair of gilt porcelain vases with handles decorated with female antique masks inside of medallions. The body of each vase is decorated with wide polychrome cartouche representing on one side gallant scenes with country side houses on the background and several couples wearing Eighteenth century costumes. On the other side, oval medaillons represent winged Cupids dressed with light draperies, in the clouds, framed by garlands of flowers. One of them has the bow, the arrow and the quiver, the other, the quiver and a flare. The butterfly wings of the latter and the attributes of two cherubs allow to recognize in these representations an allegory of love with Cupid and Psyche as main characters, a very popular topic in the first half of the 19th century. Both vases are resting on square bases. Light wear to the gilding.
