Pair of ormolu sconces

A pair of gilt bronze sconces finely chiseled with two light branches decorated with acanthus leaves and upholt by a couple of dolphins. The stem is cambered and decorated with dolphins' scales in his central part, with a palmette ornamentation coming out vertically from it.This pair of gilt bronze sconce is decorated using the technique of ormolu. The gold have to be reduced to powder on a broken stone and amalgamated with mercury, this is a process thats is easier than the gold leaf.
