Small clock in porcelain ormolu and patinated bronze in Louis XV style
Little clock in patinated and gilt bronze with porcelain flowers and a young woman holding an umbrella in one hand and in the other a container with drawers. A headdress turban hides the hair of the woman who is wearing a long dress fitted at the waist by a scarf. Around her a twisted tree with oak leaves in patinated bronze and porcelain flowers holds the movement. It is encased in a frame of gilt bronze, finely carved with flowers and leaves. The base is representative of the turbulent rococo style. Movement "au coq". Under Louis XV, the creators liked to play with the contrast of materials. Porcelain items were then ordered by dealers to manufacturers and delivered to the artisans. Porcelains from various sources can be juxtaposed on the same item.
