Ugo Cipriani's terracotta
A terracotta sculpture by Ugo Cipriani (1887-1960), a sculptor who was born in Florence, where we can still see one of his most famous works, a bust of the patriot Guglielmo Oberdan, in the place named after him. He produced many fine art deco statuary items in spelter, bronze and terracotta. Here a man is pulling a net, leaning on his right leg bent on the ground. The other one is stretched just as the arms in order to support their effort, a position which perfectly suggests the strength and the elegance of the movement.
