Important polychrome terracotta Art Nouveau style bust representing a young woman. Her hair is attached by a high bun and her light, eventful dress makes visible her right shoulder. We can notice the realism of the figure and the light casual dress. Signed "Goldscheider" and stamped "Reproduction reserved" in a reserve at the rear of the base. Numbered 961 21. The Goldscheider porcelain and majolica manufactory was established by Friedrich Goldscheider (1845-1897) in Vienna in 1885. The factory produced various ceramics, from ordinary faience vessel to luxurious porcelain objects. However, it is its polychrome terracotta sculptures that made its reputation as the polychrome followed the naturalistic approach of the sculpture in Austria. The Goldscheider manufactory was thus the source of technical innovations in polychrome and patina. Friedrich exposes its terracotta objects throughout Europe. He participated at the Leipzig Fair in 1887, at the Universal Exposition of Barcelona in 1888 and, a year later, at the World Fair in Paris. The following years, Friedrich Goldscheider presents its creations at all major events, including the Paris Salon. His figures and vases are widely appreciated and several firms are then established in Germany, France, England but also in the United States. In 1892, a subsidiary for the production of bronze is created in Paris, 45 Rue de Paradis and, in 1896, a store is opened 28 Avenue de l'Opera. After Friedrich Goldscheider’s death in 1897, his wife Regina and his brother Alois took the firm over. The production of figures continued and one started under the influence of Art Nouveau to make sculptural vases. In 1953, following the financial difficulties, the firm was shut down. Carrara marble sculpture representing Hebe draped in an antique dress looking in front of her, her face serene and hair tied in a bun held by a tiara. Goddess of youth and servant of the gods, she has a cup in her left hand while the other holding the pitcher falls along her body. Daughter of Jupiter and Juno, Hebe is the goddess of youth and servs drinks to the gods during banquets. In ancient Rome, her character has a political connotation, beeing associated with the youth of the state, which flourishes and is always renewed. In the eighteenth century, portraits of women frequently adopt the attributes of Hebe, to celebrate youth and beauty of the model. The representations of Hebe by Antonio Canova are among the best known. Two of them are preserved in the Pinacoteca Civica and the Hermitage Museum.

A violin-shaped cartel in gilded and chiseled bronze adorned with flowers, waves and volutes. The white enameled dial with Roman numerals is surmounted by a putto holding a compass and a sundial. Flare and quiver bas-relief beneath the dial. With the Louis XV style, largely imitated in the second half of the nineteenth century, the bronze decoration takes its full extent. Some objects are only adorned with a stunning symphony of rococo patterns that intersect and overlap. Foliage and flowers are involved in this movement full of vitality and yet perfectly balanced. The origin of the Tahan Company dates back to the early nineteenth century, in Belgium, when Pierre Lambert Tahan founded a workshop producing various objects based on Spa wood. Shortly before 1806, he decides to leave Spa for Paris, where he worked as cabinet-maker. In 1825, Pierre Lambert and his son, Jean Pierre Alexandre (1813-1892), are at the head of two factories, producing the same types of objects. In 1844, Pierre Lambert Tahan ceased his activities leaving the direction of his shop to his son who will completely revolutionize the company's organization by separating factory and store, located at 32 Rue de la Paix. A year later, it is already known as "Supplier of the King and Princes," and in 1855 he holds the title of "Supplier of the Emperor." Gilt bronze sculpture representing Diana the Huntress naked, standing on a cloud, a bow in her hand and holding her quiver on the back by a belt that goes around her chest. The sculpture is signed Mathurin Moreau. Son and pupil of Jean-Baptiste Moreau, he won the second Prix de Rome in 1842 and exhibited at the Salon of 1848 where he received numerous awards. Pair of vases in white opaline and inverted baluster shape with wavy edges, decorated with branches of roses connected at the bottom by a blue ribbon. This bronze is an edition of the nineteenth century from the marble by Antoine Coysevox who was himself inspired by the antique. Coysevox favorite sculptor of the King and of Hardouin-Mansart, executes for Versailles baroque and after the antique works even though he never went to Italy! Little clock in patinated and gilt bronze with porcelain flowers and a young woman holding an umbrella in one hand and in the other a container with drawers. A headdress turban hides the hair of the woman who is wearing a long dress fitted at the waist by a scarf. Around her a twisted tree with oak leaves in patinated bronze and porcelain flowers holds the movement. It is encased in a frame of gilt bronze, finely carved with flowers and leaves. Bronze sculpture with brown patina, inspired by the "Borghese Gladiator." The original is an antique statue in marble, depicting a naked man slightly larger than life (it measures 1.69 meters), apparently a soldier fighting a jumper on the left. Strongly tilted forward, he looks up and protects itself by covering up his shield, attached to the left arm. The left leg is stretched back in line with the axis of the torso, only the toes resting on the ground. Pair of blue porcelain bottles embellished with scrollwork painted gold. They are decorated with multicolored flowers on one side and on the other a character in a landscape background . They are signed DARTE, Palais Royal, No. 21, which dates them back to Charles X (1825). Jean Francois and Louis Joseph Darte teamed under the name DARTE BROTHERS in 1804 and bought the Hotel Montalembert, rue de la Roquette and then resumed the Palais Royal store. Patinated bronze sculpture signed by Pierre Jules Mene, representing the deer and the branch. After Barye, he is considered the most famous animal sculptor. In 1838 he made his debut at the Salon where he quickly became popular. As Barye, Mene opened his own foundry to edit his works and those of his son Auguste Cain. A pair of large gilt bronze candelabra representing architectural elements of Gothic cathedrals. The base with straight or curved sections resting on six feet . The first level refers to the portals of Gothic churches with all the ornamentation of the period. The second level includes domed arches, then a level of Gothic niches decorated with statues, and finally the fourth level ends with pierced treillis topped by gargoyles very present in the architecture of that period.

A French Napoleon III cigar box in rosewood veneer with geometric figures playing with different shades of wood. The rectangular shaped casket is based on four scroll feet, with an interior in mahogany with three levels of cigars. It is decorated on top with a miniature on porcelain decorated with flowers finely painted (signed "nap F" unidentified). Gilt bronze ornamentation.

An old Paris white porcelain pedestal resting on a tripod base, enameled with multicolored flowers and foliage. It has a monogram and the inscription "made in France, for the Antique Domine, Miami Beach". This is probably an order by an American client in the early twentieth century.

A small French Louis XV style gilt bronze inkwell decorated with scrolls and rocks. The cup for the ink has a pierced lid with a sheet in the shape of a volute. The nervous chiseling and form gives the object a lively movement.

A 19th century French pair of gilt bronze and cut glass three light wall appliques. They have twisted S-shaped chiseled branches, connected by a belt with applied foliage . The upper part is decorated with two eagle heads and a flame and in the back a lyre shape. Strings of facetted glass drops adorn the set.

Pair of gilded bronze vases, in the style of Clodion (1738-1814) resting on a red veined marble base. The body is adorned with putti crowned with vine leaves and depicting bacchanalia. The handles are decorated with lions' heads and horns. The fluted base and lid are decorated with classical motifs such as ovum and a pine cone on top.

Beautiful ormolu mounts of foliage scrolls with two handles on a pierced balustrade, the plate has an inkwell, two pen holes and a beaker. Resting on a fluted pedestal with four legs of fluted scrolls.

He also supplied ceiling reliefs for the Louvre and Garnier's Opera in 1882. He created other examples of American Indian bronzes in the 1860's, which were produced by the Frilli Gallery in Florence.

This group in silvered bronze, representing the three Graces, was realized at the time of Napoleon III after the monument of the heart of King Henri II by Germain Pilon executed in the sixteenth century. The bronze is resting on a green marble base. It is marked at the base "after Germain Pilon". The Graces are considered minor deities as companions of Aphrodite. They are the daughters of Zeus and Eurynome, the daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. In most cases, the three Graces personify beauty, gentleness and friendship. They served as a theme for many artists. Germain Pilon, born around 1528 in Paris and died in 1590 in the same city, is one of the most important sculptors of the French Renaissance. He was the sculptor of tombs of French kings of the sixteenth century. Son of the sculptor André Pilon, he learned from him, in shaping the clay and stone cutting. Appointed Controller of Stamps and Coins of the king, he also learned the art of carving and cast bronze. From 1558 to his death, he worked for the Court of France, creating the tombs of Francois I and Henri II, the effigies of him and Catherine de Medici, and the royal mint.

An 18th century Italian mirror in carved and gilded wood decorated with carved leaves and scrolls in a very baroque movement. Two birds emerge from a profusion of foliage, on both sides of a pierced flower at the top. The gilding is in a good original condition.

A porcelain cup in the shape of a large shell decorated with floral patterns, surmounted by two ladies climbing on each side. Marked underneath Royal Dux (Bohemia). Royal Dux is the more common name for the Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur, which was founded by E. Eichler in Dux, Bohemia (now Duchov, Czech Republic), in 1860. By the turn of the century, the firm specialized in porcelain statuary and busts of Art Nouveau–style maidens, large porcelain figures, and ornate vases with three-dimensional figures climbing on the sides. The firm is still in business.

An important easel by Gabriel Viardot with a beautiful ornamental bronze dragon. Viardot was a Parisian cabinetmaker of the Faubourg St. Antoine, where he manufactured furniture freely interpreted by the Far East and adapted to European tastes in the late nineteenth century.

An exceptional Empire style console with four legs shaped in columns topped with gilded bronze caryatids. The console is plated with antique green marble richly ornamented with garlands, laurel and Greek motifs in gilt bronze. The console rests on four lion's paws. Two black Belgium marble tops, one on top and the other one resting on the bottom spacer. The inside of the console is in dark wood veneer and covered by three mirrors encircled with gilded bronze medallions.

A Paris porcelain inkwell in the style of Jacob Petit, composed of two parties. The bottom five feet resting on shaped scrolls, has two wells for ink and sand, and in the front shell-shaped bowl. The upper lid is carved with a dog in a sitting position. The choice of several colors of enamel, reminiscent of the shimmering polychromy of Jacob Petit's porcelain, with the mixture of rococo and wildlife.

Original hanging jardiniere in finely chiseled gilt bronze, with all its edges perforated with a Gothic Revival frieze. The pyramid-shaped receptacle is covered on three sides with mirrors and is decorated at the corners with a swan. The top part is decorated with a grotesque mask with a wreath of palm leaves. The original mirrors are beveled.

Pair of sphinges in cast iron with brown patina, sitting on their rump, tail raised, wings spread, holding in their mouth a ring. They are on a pedestal engraved with floral motifs and decorated with gilt bronze masks. The position of the Sphinx is very elegant and details such as muscles, ribs and wings are of quality.
