19th century Neoclassical pedestal resting on three arched hoof's paw feet, above a round base. Crafted of giltwood, this intricately detailed fixure boasts rams' heads, garlands of flowers and acanthus leaves. The upper part with circular red Griotte marble top is decorated with interlacing, pearls and flutes. With its exquisite wood detailing, this Napoleon III pedestal was no doubt created to display an art object, such as a candelabra or bronze sculpture.
