This monumental crystal and ormolu chandelier was designed in Louis XV style. Oversized, luminous slice-cut drops and pendants hang from scrolling Rocaille branches crafted of gilt bronze. With its organic swirls and curves of scrolls and acanthus leaves, this 24-light fixture is exemplary of the Rococo aesthetic, that was widely imitated in France in the second half of the 19th century.
