CSS" modular bookcase in white lacquered wood and stainless steel, by Georges Nelson, 1970s. It comprises four uprights to be fixed to the floor and ceiling, supporting 7 shelves and 5 pedestals. Published by Herman Miller for Mobilier International. Total height can be reduced (height adjustable to +/- 2 cm). All elements are attached to the uprights with metal fasteners. George Nelson (1908-1986) was an American designer renowned for his contribution to the international renown of Herman Miller. He was responsible for many 20th-century icons. His most famous creations include the Marshmallow sofa (1956), the MAA chair (1958) in fiberglass and chromed steel, and the Coconut seat (1954).
