Review

Fire screen crafted of gilt and chiseled bronze featuring an intricate decoration of scrolls, acanthus leaves and flowers in Rococo style. With a fireplace fender and a pair of andirons, or chenets, embellished with naturalistic motifs in Louis XV style. The screen and fireplace fender were used to protect one's home from flying embers or sparks.

 

Dimensions fire screen : H:78cm, L:56cm, P:19cm.

Dimensions fireplace fender and andirons : L. max. opened : 112 cm, L. min. : 73 cm, H:34 cm, P: 17 cm.
Circa :1880
