Very large panoramic canvas depicting the "Journey of the Holy Family to Egypt" by Georges Och, a French landscape painter born in 1798. The biblical scene recounts Joseph's flight with Mary and baby Jesus to Egypt, to escape persecution by Herod I, King of Judea. The painting was exhibited at the 1848 Salon (catalog no. 3472) under the title "Voyage de la Sainte Famille en Égypte, paysage historique". Signed lower center: "G. Och", and dated 1847. Louis-Philippe period, Circa: 1847 Dim: W:378cm, D:4cm, H:264cm. In very good condition, the canvas has been restored.
