French porcelain bisque group in the style of Falconet children designed by Étienne-Maurice Falconet in 1757 for Sèvres. These statuettes, characterized by a high naturalism and inspired by François Boucher, feature children making rural activities. Our bisque depicts four young Cupids working the metal in a forge. The young blacksmiths are crafted with realism, their attitudes depict the difficult working conditions in a forge. The group is set upon a black marble base.
