Allegorical Louis XV-style clock crafted of red tortoiseshell veneer and gilt bronze, richly decorated with rocaille and acanthus leaves. The dial with 13 enameled plates is signed "Gilles Laine, Paris". It is surmounted by an allegory of Time, which is represented as a winged old man holding a scythe. The clock rests on four arched ormolu feet, ornemented with scrolls and foliage. 19th century clockwork. With its original key marked "A.M.".


Scale specimen in accordance with Article 2 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 338/97 of 9 December 1996.

Acquired before the 1st of June 1947.

Condition Report
In overall very good condition. The clockwork has been cleaned, serviced and is in working condition.
