Sumptuous table in Louis XIV style, with oblong tray featuring colorful marquetry in rosewood, amaranth, and other exotic woods. The exquisit decor captures musical trophie framed by a border of foliated rinceau, interlace and floral pattern. It opens by a large front drawer, and rests on four fluted legs. A X-shaped strut connects the legs and is topped by an ormolu antique vase. Beautiful ornamentation of gilt bronzes, including the ormolu border around the tray, finely chiseled with foliage. This Louis XIV dining table is an extraordinary example of the art of marquetry. Napoleon III period.
