Review

Pair of candlesticks in Sevres taste crafted of bisque porcelain with two lights. Influenced by the designs of Falconet at Sevres, each candelabra features a young Cupid on clouds, holding a garland of roses. Falconet Children were made at Sevres in the second half of the eighteenth century after François Boucher. These charming figurines were very popular during the 18th century and well beyond their creation date.

Our Cupids rest on a circular base decorated with petals and interlacing. The flowing lines and graceful form of the foliated lights are rendered in meticulous detail.

Sevres apocryphal mark underneath.

Circa :1860
Dim: W: 7,5 in - D: 4,3in - H: 7,9in.
Dim: L:19cm, P:11cm, H:20cm.
