This beautiful pair of ormolu Medici vases depicts a Bacchanalia with young men and women dressed "à l'antique", playing and dancing on a matting background adorned with vine branches and grapes. The handles are supported by bearded masks. The Bacchanalia, also called Dionysia in Greco-Roman mythology, is any of the several festivals of Bacchus (Dyonisos), the wine god, characterized by rites, processions, dramatic performances and drinking feasts. Our gilded bronze vases are set upon a white marble plinth.

Circa :1850
Dim: W: 4,5 in - D: 4,5in - H: 14,2in.
Dim: L:11,5cm, P:11,5cm, H:36cm.

Condition Report
In overall good condition, with light wear to the handles and small chips on the marble base.
